Entries and Professions

We would expect the number of girls entering a convent to be higher than the number who went on to take their profession and become full members of the community. However, convent profession records are often fuller and better preserved than those relating to entry.
For this convent the earliest recorded entry occurred in 1623 and the last in 1760. The earliest recorded profession occurred in 1625 and the last in 1796.

Types of Nun

These figures reflect the numbers of choir and lay nuns who professed in each twenty-year period.Note: the convent may not have been active throughout the whole of the first and last periods shown.
