Notes:

Niece to Lady Lovell (nee Roper) founder of Carmelites, Antwerp , who lived with her grandmother, Lady Cross, in Flanders. She spoke Flemish. Had been engaged to a gentleman of quality by the affair ended when he quarrelled with her grandmother. Her decision to become a nun was a difficult one and continued to be difficult for her after profession, though she persevered (I ann, under year 1634).
