Quotations

Notes:

Identified as daughter of Sir Hugh Smithson 3rd Bart of Stanwick, Yorks and Lady Elizabeth Langdale by Gillow's note to pb. However, he refers to her three sisters, also nuns. Four known daughters of these parents all became Augustinian nuns. Ann's date of birth, c. 1685, accords well with the suggested parentage. Alternatively she may have been a cousin.
